And she thought, I just came to see the garden. But it had already been eaten by dragons..
I just came to see the garden seeks to move the viewer between intimate spaces of reflection on the essence of human beings and their correlation with the natural environment, both interconnected by the fragile balance of an ecosystem that sustains life. The project talks about the primitive connection with our environment, about our first contact with the world, about the air, about the time, about the stone...
Pieces such as Once upon a time propose an uncertain vision of the future. Between fragments, the image reconstructs memories sewn together, alluding to the sublime experience of facing the wind, the sun, the earth, the leaves, the forest... common experiences that one day will be nothing more than stories. Amongst a desolate vision of the future, the project proposes to recall the beauty of the present while hinting at the danger of losing the link with the Earth. In this sense, the artwork I just came to see the garden reminds us of this primordial link between human beings and nature. The work is a wink at man's earliest architecture. Inside the shelter, a series of portraits face each other, raising elements such as plants and stones. They could be offerings. A series of fragments of poems are interwoven between the images, constructing a reflective narrative that questions the integration of the being with the ground, with the animals or with the plants. The work poses a visual game between the threshold of the real and the dreamlike.
The videoart Animals in the woods, shows the human body in its natural environment under the inclement weather. Cloaked by the forest, slow movements induce a state of meditation and concentration. In an attempt to reconnect with its animal origin, the body takes on different postures that resemble quadrupeds.
